THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.11736 of 2015 ORDER:
The writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the second respondent in not awarding Ph.D., to the petitioner by conducting viva voce and other procedures in spite of completion of the research and study under the guide and submission of the thesis way back in the year 2014, without any justifiable reasons as illegal and arbitrary, and consequently direct the respondents to award Ph.D., to the petitioner by conducting viva voce by following due procedures.
Heard and perused the records.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner has completed the research and study under the guide and submitted the thesis in the year 2014, the respondents have not conducted viva voce to award Ph.D., to the petitioner and as such, prays this Court to direct the respondents to conduct viva voce and award Ph.D., to the petitioner.
In view of the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to take further steps on the thesis submitted by the petitioner in accordance with law, including conducting viva voce to the petitioner to award Ph.D., to the petitioner. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any shall also stand disposed of.
