IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT HYDERABAD

FOR THE STATE OF TELANGANA AND THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH FRIDAY, THE TWENTIETH DAY OF FEBRUARY TWO THOUSAND AND FIFTEEN

Present

Between:

Gunturi Parvatha Vardhani, D/o. Varadayya Sastry, Hindu, Aged about 45 years, Occ: Employee, R/o. Door No.116, Defense Enclave, K. Narayanapuram, Geddla Halli, Bangalore, Karnataka State & another .. Petitioners AND Dandu Narasimha Raju, S/o. D. Suryanarayana Raju, Sub-Registrar, Sarpavaram, East Godavari District.

.. Respondent The Court made the following:

ORDER:

On 13.06.2014, interim order was passed in W.P.No.3199 of 2014 directing respondents 1 and 2 therein to pass orders on the notices, dated 24.07.2013 and 19.01.2014, within a period of three (3) weeks.

2. Learned Assistant Government Pleader produced orders passed by the Sub-Registrar, Sarpavaram, East Godavari District (respondent), dated 18.02.2015, wherein he passed orders as directed by this Court. Thus, the order passed by this Court is complied with.

3. However, it is noticed that on a simple matter when the Court fixed time to pass orders and such order was passed on 13.06.2014, it took approximately seven months for the Sub-Registrar to take a decision and that too after initiation of contempt case and that too after three adjournments in the contempt case. Such conduct is highly deprecated. If the officer has a genuine reason for not taking a decision as directed by this Court within the time stipulated, he should always take steps to appraise the Court and seek extension of time, but cannot keep quiet. It is expected that the officer would be careful in future in

complying with the directions within the time stipulated.

4. Accordingly, the Contempt Case is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this contempt case shall stand closed. _________________ P.NAVEEN RAO, J Date: 20th February, 2015 KL
