THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.40055 OF 2014 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not closing the rowdy sheet opened against the petitioner in the year 2011 by conducting periodical review as illegal and arbitrary and consequently, direct the respondents to close the rowdy sheet opened against him forthwith. 2.

Case of the petitioner is that respondent No.3 opened a rowdy sheet against him in the year 2011 and is continuing the same without closing it; that the cases pending against him ended in acquittal; that under the guise of the rowdy sheet, the police concerned are frequently calling him to the police station and detaining him in the police station from morning to evening; that he is not involved in any case relating to breach of peace and tranquillity in the society and hence, prays to direct the respondents to close the rowdy sheet opened against him forthwith.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 4.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the grievance of the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to make a representation to respondent No.3 herein for removal of his name from the rowdy sheet by placing all the material and the relevant documents and on such application, respondent No.3 shall dispose

of the same in accordance with law within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
