ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not considering the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds as arbitrary and illegal and consequently, direct the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds, in any suitable post.

Heard Sri C.Raja Sekhar Reddy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Services appearing for the respondents.

It is the case of the petitioner that his father was initially appointed as VAO in 1992; that later on, he was appointed as VRO; that while in service, his father died on 23.08.2009; that the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 09.11.2009 to the respondents for appointment on compassionate grounds in any suitable post.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the respondents have not yet passed any orders on the said representation and the same is still pending. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner had further

submitted representations on 16.01.2017 and on 08.08.2017, but the respondents neither rejected the case of the petitioner nor appointed him on compassionate grounds in any suitable post.

If that being the case, the respondents are directed to consider the said representations submitted by the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds, in any suitable post, if there is any scheme of appointment on compassionate grounds and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
