Heard. With the consent of both the parties, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

Petitioners retired as lecturers from V.R.Law College, Nellore. The claim of the petitioners necessitating in institution of this writ petition is that the respondents have not released pension and other benefits to the petitioners for the service rendered by them in the 3rd respondent-College.

In the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the 1st respondent, it is stated that Government passed orders on 10.01.2017 directing the Commissioner of Collegiate Education to fix the pay in respect of all the petitioners in UGC Scales of 1986, 1996 and 2006 and consequential benefits and also to forward pension proposals to the Accountant General, A.P., Hyderabad, for releasing of pensionary benefits.

Learned Senior counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioners, submit that having regard to the statement of the Government in Para No.17 of the Counter and the memo issued on 10.01.2017, a direction be issued to the Commissioner of Collegiate Education to undertake the exercise of completing the formalities in determining the scales of pay, payable to the petitioners and to release the retirement benefits within the fixed time frame.

Having regard to the fact that petitioners have retired from service long ago and that pay fixation is not done for no fault of them and retirement benefits are not determined so far, the

respondents, more particularly the 2nd respondent-Commissioner of Collegiate Education is directed to determine the pay of the petitioners as directed by the Government in Memo dated 10.01.2017, work out the pensionary benefits payable to the petitioners and ensure that pension is released to the petitioners, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6.

With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
