Aggrieved by the dismissal of an application for the grant of Police Aid to enable the petitioner to cut the crops, the plaintiff in a suit for permanent injunction has come up with the above revision.

M.Radhakrishna, learned counsel, representing Mr. B.Devanand, learned counsel for the petitioner.

3. Notice was issued in the above revision on 09-11-2018. Service is complete, but the respondents have not chosen to enter appearance through counsel. Therefore, the revision was taken up for hearing on merits.

The only ground on which the Trial Court dismissed the application for Police Aid is that in the year 2017 also such an application was filed and an order was passed, but the petitioner did not require the services of the Police at that time. This can hardly be a reason. Once the Court had granted Police Aid last year, the Court cannot refuse permission this year, unless there are compelling reasons. The fact that the petitioner did not utilise the services of the Police last year, is no ground to deny Police Aid this year.

5. Therefore, the revision is allowed, the impugned order is set aside and there will be a direction to the Police to

provide aid to the petitioner to cut the crops. Pending applications, if any, shall stand closed. No costs. __________________________ V.RAMASUBRAMANIAN, J.
