Petitioners claim to be residents of Alamanda Village, Jami Mandal, Vizianagaram District. According to the petitioners in 2014 Hudhud cyclone extensive damage was caused to the properties in the village including the houses of the petitioners. Having noticed extensive damage caused to the houses, Government evolved policy of acquiring land and to construct houses at free of cost to those persons affected by Hudhud cyclone. The grievance of the petitioners in this writ petition is that while identifying the beneficiaries proper exercise was not undertaken and ineligible persons are now included for provision of houses, while excluding the actual persons who were affected by the Hudhud cyclone. Ventilating the grievance, the mandal President of Bharatiya Janata Party, submitted representation on 05.06.2017 to the District Collector, Vizianagaram. Alleging inaction and not altering the list prepared, even though specifically grievance was brought to the notice of the competent authority about wrong entry of names of ineligible persons, no action is taken.

Learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned Assistant Government Pleader, agree for disposal of the writ petition as under :

- 3 - The Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the District Collector, Vizianagaram, to examine the grievance of the petitioners as ventilated by Sri A.Srinivasa Raju, Mandal President of Bharatiya Janata Party and pass appropriate orders, as warranted by law, by assigning due reasons in support of his decision. A decision shall be taken and communicated to the petitioners or Sri A.Srinivasa Raju, who submitted the representation, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
