THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE U. DURGA PRASAD RAO CRIMINAL PETITION No.7062 OF 2016 ORDER:

The petitioner - A3, who was charged for the offence under Section 8 (c) read with 20 (b) (ii) (C) of Nacrotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in Crime No.4 of 2016 of Mothugudem Police Station, East Godavari District, for transporting contraband ganja of 927 Kgs. in 24 gunny bags in a DCM Van bearing registration No.AP31-TD-2149, and who has been in judicial custody since 24.01.2016 pending investigation, filed the instant bail application.

Heard.

A perusal of the remand report, F.I.R. and other record shows that there is prima facie material against the petitioner for his involvement in the offence. In view of the fact that the contraband ganja seized is 927 Kgs., which is commercial quantity and investigation being pending, it is not a fit case to grant bail. Accordingly, the petition is dismissed.
