This Criminal Petition, under Sections 437 and 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ accused No.4, for grant of bail in connection with Crime No.67 of 2017 on the file of the Eleswaram Police Station, East Godavari District, registered for the offences punishable under Section 8(C) read with Section 20(b)(ii)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. 2 .

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused No.4, learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent-State and perused the record.

It is brought to the notice of this Court that two earlier bail applications filed by the petitioner/ accused No.4 were dismissed by the Sessions Court vide orders, dated 02.06.2017 and 27.06.2017. The investigation is in progress. Charge-sheet is not yet filed. In view of the gravity of the offences and the specific allegation that the petitioner/ accused No.4, along with other persons were transporting Ganja in a Tata Indigo car on 16.05.2017, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner/ accused No.4 at this stage. 4 .

In the result, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed.
