THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE T.SUNIL CHOWDARY CRIMINAL PETITION No.9879 of 2017 ORDER:

This petition is filed, by the petitioner-accused No.2, under Sections 437 and 439 Cr.P.C., seeking bail in Crime No.55 of 2017 on the file of the Station House Officer, Butchiyyapeta Police Station, Visakhapatnam District, registered for the offence punishable under Section 20(b)(C)(1) read with 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that after filing of the charge sheet, the case was numbered as N.S.C.No.554 of 2017 on the file of the Court of the Special Judge for NDPS Cases-cum-I Additional Sessions Judge, Visakhapatnam. 3.

At the time of hearing, the only relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner is to direct the trial Court to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible.

In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to go into the merits of the main case.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and also the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Special Judge for NDPS Cases-cum-I Additional Sessions Judge, Visakhapatnam, is hereby directed to dispose of N.S.C.No.554 of 2017, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
