K. Upendar Rao, S/o. Narayana Rao, Aged about 48 years, N.M.R. Lascar, O/o. Dy. E.E. N.S.L.B.C. O&M Sub Division, Kodad, Nalgonda District (Writ Petitioner No.331 In W.P.No.97 of 1988 on the file of Hon'ble Supreme Court) (old Nalgonda District and others .. Petitioners And Sri S. Sunil, Chief Engineer, Nagarjuna Sagar Project, Govt. of Telangana, Erramanzil, At Hyderabad .. Respondent The Court made the following:

THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.2179 OF 2017 ORDER:

Having regard to the law laid down by the Supreme Court in STATE OF PUNJAB AND OTHERS v. JAGJITH SINGH1, the Court directed the respondent herein to consider the representation of the petitioners, dated 07.02.2017, and to pass orders within eight weeks.

2.

Learned Government Pleader produced a copy of the order, dated 03.12.2018, whereunder the minimum time scale was granted to the petitioners.

3.

Learned counsel for the petitioners sought to contend that the amount sanctioned is not commensurate to the minimum time scale which the petitioners are entitled.

4.

I am afraid, the same cannot be appreciated in the contempt proceedings as there was no direction to pay particular amount to the petitioners. Therefore, it cannot be said that the respondent has violated the directions of the Court.

5.

The Contempt Case is accordingly closed. If the petitioners are not satisfied with the amount sanctioned, they are at liberty to work out appropriate remedies as available in law. ____________________ P. NAVEEN RAO, J Date:24.01.2019 KH 1 (2017) (1) SCC 148
