HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No. 6495 of 2002 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in proceeding with special recruitment for SC/ST backlog vacancies vide notification dated 31.01.2002 contrary to the rules and procedure contemplated and also filling up all ST vacancies with SC candidates, as illegal and arbitrary. While admitting the writ petition, this Court directed the respondents not to fill-up the post of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Zoology Department notified vide notification dated 31.01.2002, by orders dated 09.04.2002 in WPMP No.8149 of 2002. The principal grievance of the petitioner is that the respondents are not following the rules while filling up the said post. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to follow the rules while filling up the post of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Zoology Department.
