THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.35638 OF 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not considering him to be appointed to the vacancy of Matadhipathi of Gali Gopuram Math as per the customs and practices prevailing in spite of several representations, as arbitrary and illegal, and consequently, direct the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner. Heard and perused the material available on record. The main grievance of the petitioner is that he made several representations to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider his case for appointment as Mahant, Gali Gopuram Matam, Vinkuntakoil, Tirupathi, Chittoor District, but there is no response from the respondents 1 and 2 and recently, on 07.10.

2016 also he made an application to the 2nd respondent and no action has been taken on the said representation. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the grievance of the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to consider the representation, dated 07.10.2016, said to have been submitted by the petitioner and take appropriate action in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions pending if any, shall stand closed.
