HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO Contempt Case No.834 of 2016 ORDER: (per the Hon'ble The Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan)) The respondent-contemnor is neither an I.A.S. Officer nor is he the Principal Secretary to the Government. He is the Minister for Panchayat Raj in the Government of Telangana. The present contempt case, seeking to punish him under the Contempt of Courts Act, though he was not a party to the Writ Petition, is wholly misconceived and necessitates rejection at the threshold.

We consider it appropriate to also record the submission of both Smt. S.A.V. Ratnam, learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Industries and Commerce that, in view of the letter addressed by the Secretary to the Government, Industries & Commerce Department to the Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd., on 12.8.2016, the order, violation of which is alleged in the contempt case, has been complied with.

The contempt case is, accordingly, dismissed. No order as to costs. ________________________________ RAMESH RANGANATHAN, ACJ _____________________________ P. NAVEEN RAO, J 17th September, 2016 pnb
