This Criminal Petition, under Sections 437 and 439 of Cr.P.C., is filed by the petitioners/accused Nos.1 and 2, seeking regular bail in Crime No.12 of 2016, on the file of the Station House Officer, Donkarai Police Station, East Godavari District, registered for the offence punishable under Section 8 (c) r/w 20 (b) (ii) (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioners, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondentState and perused the record. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioners were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 16-11-2016. The trial has commenced in the Court below. The accusation made against the petitioners is that they were found in possession of 50 kgs of ganja, which is a commercial quantity. In these circumstances, it is not appropriate to release the petitioners on bail.
