ORDER

This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioners/A2 to A5 seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.906 of 2015 on the file of IV Additional Junior Civil Judge, Guntur, for the offences punishable under Section 498-A IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act., against them.

2. It is alleged in the charge sheet that the marriage of A1 with the de facto complainant was solemnized on 28.02.2009. At the time of marriage, her parents gave Rs.2.50 lakhs, 58 grams of gold apart from other articles towards dowry. After the birth of a male child, A1, at the instigation of A2 to A5, used to harass the de facto complainant for additional dowry and also threatened her with dire consequences. Based on the complaint, a case in Cr.No.59 of 2015 of Women Police Station, Guntur Urban, was registered against the accused for the offence under Section 498A IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

3. In view of the allegations mentioned in the charge sheet and also the nature of proceedings, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the presence of petitioners 1 to 3/A2 to A4 except petitioner No.4/A5 before the trial Court is dispensed with except on the dates whenever their presence is insisted by the trial Court and they shall be represented by their counsel.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed.
