Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies for the respondents. 2.
Petitioner claims to be the owner of plot bearing No.51, Revenue Ward No.52 of Pipula Road, Singh Nagar, Vijayawada, with constructed iron shed. According to petitioner the tenant of the premises purchased PDS rice and when inspection was conducted, as he has not satisfactorily explained the reason for possessing the PDS rice, the rice was seized and as a consequence, the premises was also locked. Challenging locking of the premises, this writ petition is filed. 3.
When the matter is taken up, learned Government pleader, based on the instructions furnished to him by the Collector (CS) Krishna, would submit that steps are being taken up to release the house plot No.51, Revenue Ward No.52. 4.
Having regard to the instructions furnished to learned Government Pleader, the Joint Collector, Krishna at Machilipatnam is directed to unlock the subject plot and hand over possession to the petitioner within one week from the date of receipt of copy of this order. However, this order does not come in the way of competent authority taking action against the person from whom the rice was seized.
