This Criminal Petition, under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ A.2, for grant of anticipatory bail in Crime No.159 of 2018 of Nagarjunasagar Police Station, Guntur District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 420 of I.P.C. and Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. 2 .

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ A.2, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent-State and perused the record.

In the course of submissions, it is brought to the notice of this Court that on 15.11.2018, the petitioner/ A.2 was found transporting 27 white gunny bags of PDS rice in a lorry bearing registration No.AP-07TJ-1319 belonging to A.1 in this crime. It is also brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner/ A.2 is also an accused in Crime No.71 of 2016 and Crime No.160 of 2018 of Dachepalli Police Station, wherein, he is facing similar allegations. The gravity of the offences against the petitioner/ A.2 is high. The matter requires thorough investigation. It is not a fit case to allow this application.

Hence, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed.
