This writ petition is filed, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus to declare the action of the 2nd respondent in not appointing him as a Multipurpose Dairy Extension Assistant, pursuant to an advertisement published in Andhra Jyothi District Edition, Prakasam District, on 01.09.2017. 2.

Heard Sri V. Ch. Naidu, learned counsel for the petitioner, and the Government Pleader for Animal Husbandry, appearing for the respondents.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner had responded to an advertisement issued by the 2nd respondent and published in Andhra Jyothi District Ediction, Prakasam District, on 01.09.2017, for the post of Multipurpose Dairy Extension Assistant in the District Animal Husbandry Department. The petitioner was called for interview, but he did not receive any communication from the respondents about his appointment. On that, the petitioner made a representation dated 25.11.2017 to the 2nd respondent seeking to consider his candidature for the said post, but the same is still pending. As the petitioner would be crossing 40 years within six months and it is the last chance for him, he is constrained to file the present writ petition.

Learned Government Pleader for the respondents contends that the selection process was finalized and the petitioner was not selected, that only the names of selected candidates were displayed on the notice board, and that since the case of the petitioner had not come up within the zone of consideration, his case was not considered. 5.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the petitioner contends that no such selection list was displayed on the notice board and the result of the selections was not communicated to the petitioner. 6.

Having considered the submissions made by the parties, this Court is of the opinion that the writ petition can be disposed of with a direction to the respondents to communicate the result of the selections.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondents to communicate the result of the selections, which were undertaken pursuant to the advertisement issued by the 2nd respondent and published in Andhra Jyothi District Edition, Prakasam District, on 01.09.2017, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
