This criminal petition is filed, by the petitioner, who is the sole accused, seeking for quash of the proceedings in Crime No.217 of 2018 on the file of Anantapuram IV Town Police Station, Anantapuram, Andhra Pradesh. The offence alleged is under Section 420 IPC.

Learned counsel for the petitioner does not press upon other grounds on which he basis his prayer to quash the proceedings. He, however, requests this court to direct the police to follow the procedure laid down under Section 41-A of Cr.P.C and the guidelines formulated by the Apex Court in " ARNESH KUMAR V. STATE OF BI HAR1" .

Acceding to the request of the counsel for the petitioner and without touching the merits of the case, this court deems it appropriate to direct the police to follow the procedure laid down in Section 41-A Cr.P.C. and guidelines prescribed in ARNESH KUMAR'S case (supra).

With the above directions, the criminal petition is disposed of. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand dismissed.
