This Criminal Petition is filed under Section-482 of Cr.P.C. to quash the proceedings in Crime No.171 of 2017 of Mattampally Police Station, Suryapet District registered for the offences punishable under Section-420 IPC and Section-7 of the Essential Commodities Act.

Sri Somi Reddy Chandra Mohan Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, has fairly requested this Court to issue a direction to the Station House Officer, Mattampally Police Station, Suryapet District to follow the procedure under Section41-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the guidelines issued by the Apex Court in Arnesh Kumar Vs. State of Bihar1. Accepting the request of the learned counsel for the petitioner, without touching the merits, I deem it appropriate to direct the Station House Officer, Mattampally Police Station, Suryapet District to follow the procedure under Section-41-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the guidelines issued by the 1 (2014)8 SCC273

Apex Court in Arnesh Kumar (supra) subject to their applicability.

Subject to the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of.

As a sequel, the Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
