ORAL ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies.

Though the writ petition is filed challenging seizure of 21 quintals of rice along with vehicle bearing registration No. TS -05-UB 6649 by conducting panchanama dated 5-10-2018, learned counsel for petitioner submitted that if direction is issued for early completion of proceedings under Section 6-A of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, would suffice the interest of the petitioner. 3.

Having regard to the said submission, without expressing any opinion, respondent no.2 is directed to complete proceedings under Section 6-A of the Act, 1955 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Pending disposal of section 6-A proceedings, respondents are directed not to dispose of the seized stock of the petitioner. 4.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, are closed.
