Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Government Pleader for Assignment appearing for the respondents. 2.

Petitioners submit that they applied for ryotwari pattas to the 1st respondent under the provisions of Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Area) Inams (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Act, 1956 (for short, 'the Act') on 17.10.2017 and contend that the 1st respondent has not passed any orders on their applications. 3.

Learned Government Pleader for Assignment appearing for the respondents sought time for obtaining instructions. 4.

Since it is the statutory duty of the 1st respondent to entertain and decide the applications filed under Section 7 of the Act, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to act in accordance with the provisions of the Act, issue notices to all the affected parties and take an appropriate decision on the applications of the petitioners for issuance of ryotwari pattas, referred to above, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
