Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for the respondents.

Vide letter dated 31.10.2018, impugned in the writ petition, provisional assessment of liability was fixed at Rs.2,52,367/-, subject to determination of civil liability under Section 154 (5) of the Electricity Act, 2003. 3.

Both counsel agree for disposal of writ petition, subject to petitioner depositing 50% of the amount quantified in the notice impugned.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that 50% of the amount demanded is already paid.

Having regard to the above submissions, subject to verification of payment of 50% of the demanded amount already deposited by the petitioner, respondents are directed not to insist for payment of balance amount, until the proceedings under Section 154 (5) of the Electricity Act, 2003 are finalized and subject to petitioner complying with all other requirements and regular payment of electricity charges.
