THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.2727 OF 2017 ORDER:

The contempt case is filed alleging violation of the order, dated 28.03.2017 passed in W.P.No.9002 of 2017. This Court disposed of the said writ petition directing the second respondent therein, i.e., Superintendent of Police, East Godavari District, Kakinada, to verify the record in Crime No.56 of 2017, dated 21.03.2017 and initiate appropriate action against the fifth respondent therein, i.e., the Station House Officer, Kothapeta Police Station, Kothapeta, for his negligence in discharging his duties.

Now a counter affidavit is filed by the respondent herein/second respondent in the writ petition stating that pursuant to the order of this Court; and on verification of the record, the Sub Divisional Police Officer, Amalapuram, on 02.01.2018, imposed a minor punishment on the Sub Inspector of Police, Kothapeta Police Station, Kothapeta, for his failure in responding immediately on the petition of Advocate Commissioner, after its receipt in Kothapeta Police Station and non-registering of First Information Report, as per procedure.

In view of the same, no further proceedings are warranted in the present contempt case. However, this will not prevent the petitioner from taking appropriate proceedings in accordance with law. The contempt case is accordingly closed.
