HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE M. SEETHARAMA MURTI WRIT PETITION No.42728 of 2017 ORDER:

This Writ petition is filed by the petitioner challenging the action of the first respondent in not disposing the Revision Petition No.18109/ MII(1)/ 2010-1, dated 27.12.2010, filed by the petitioner challenging the demand notice of the fourth respondent, dated 20.08.2008, whereby a demand for payment of seigniorage fee was made. It is the case of the petitioner that during the pendency of the aforestated Revision Petition, a fresh demand notice vide No.6318/ V&E-2/ 2008, dated 06.09.2017, was issued.

At the hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the writ petition may be disposed of reserving liberty to the petitioner to challenge the said subsequent demand notice and directing the first respondent to dispose of the pending Revision Petition afore-stated. Learned Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 5, on instructions, would submit that the Revision Petition filed by the petitioner is posted to 22.12.2017 along with several other cases and that the said Revision Petition would be disposed of within a reasonable time. Having regard to the submissions, the writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to dispose of the subject Revision Petition of the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
