The Petitioner alleges that the Respondent - Zilla Parishad who was directed by the two orders of this Court that are dated 24 August 2016 and 19 September 2018 to complete the exercise of finalizing seniority list did not do so within the time stipulated. Affidavit-in-reply is filed by the Chief Executive Officer, Respondent - Zilla Parishad on 19 March 2021, where in paragraphs

13. CP 65.20.doc 4 and 5, the Chief Executive Officer has given explanation as to the formalities that had to be completed and for the delay of 41 days that has occurred, he has tendered his unconditional apology. 3.

Having considered the explanation to the extent of delay and the unconditional apology tendered which is reiterated by the learned Counsel for the Respondent - Zilla Parishad before us, we do not find any warrant to proceed further in our contempt jurisdiction.

As regard the contentions of the Petitioner that after the exercise was carried out, the steps that have been taken which are prejudicial to the Petitioner are concerned, this is not the scope of the present Contempt Petition. It is open to the Petitioner to take the steps as may be permitted in law and fact. 5.

The Contempt Petition is accordingly disposed of. AMIT B. BORKAR, J.
