By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent No.2 - Senior Police Inspector, Kalwa Police Station, 1/4

Thane, to issue a Police Verification Certificate to the passport authority, as expeditiously as possible.

Learned Counsel appearing for the respondent No.4 - Passport Authority of India states that the application filed by the petitioner has been closed and as such, the petitioner will now have to file a fresh application for issuance of Police Clearance/Verification Certificate.

In view of the aforesaid objection raised by the learned Counsel appearing for the respondent No.4 - Passport Authority of India, learned Counsel for the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the petition with liberty to file a fresh application before the respondent No.4 - Passport Authority of India for issuance of a Police Clearance/Verification Certificate.

If such an application is filed before the respondent No.4 - Passport Authority of India, the respondent No.4 to process the said 2/4

application expeditiously.

Mr. Konde Deshmukh, learned Addl.P.P, states that as soon as the Police receive any request from the respondent No.4 - Passport Authority of India for Police Clearance/Verification Certificate, the Police will issue a Police Clearance/Verification Certificate after noting the case (one), however, will mention in the said certificate that there is no impediment imposed on the petitioner not to travel overseas and even otherwise, the condition of obtaining permission of the Investigating Officer before travelling has been obtained by the petitioner. Statement accepted.

The said Police Clearance/Verification Certificate to be dispatched expeditiously to the respondent No.4 - Passport Authority of India, on receipt of their request. Thereafter, the Passport Authority of India, to process the application preferred by the applicant expeditiously.

Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
