The challenge is to confirmation of the mutation entry which is effected in favour of the Respondent No.9 herein. It is well settled that the mutation entries are only for fiscal purposes and do not confer title. If the Petitioner is seeking to assert any right in respect of the property in question, it would be open for him to file appropriate civil proceedings. Needless to state that the mutation entry would not come in his way from prosecuting such proceedings. With the aforesaid observations the Writ Petition is disposed of.
