It is seen that in this old appeal of the year 2001, contesting respondent no.1 could not be served by the appellant, who is Union of India. Respondent no.2 is the formal party i.e. State of Maharashtra.

Vide order dated 25th September 2017, this court had granted six weeks time to the appellant for providing correct address of respondent no.1. Compliance of this order is not done. avk 1/2

27-APPEAL-396-2001.doc In this view of the matter, the appellant is directed to tender fresh and correct address of respondent no.1 and to serve respondent no.1 by taking all necessary steps, within a period of eight weeks from today, failing which, the appeal shall stand dismissed without reference to the court.
