Heard. By this Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the Petitioner is seeking direction against Respondent No.1 to decide his Application for validity of caste certificate.

The learned AGP submits that as per order dated 09.02.2021 passed by this Court, he received instructions from the Committee that the next date of hearing in the Petitioner's Application is 22.02.2021. He submits that if the Petitioner remains present and files his Affidavit in Reply on 22.02.2021, the Committee shall decide the same within four weeks from that date.

40.584.21.odt The learned AGP has placed on record a letter dated 17.02.2021 received from the Committee. Same is taken on record and marked "X" for identification.

The learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner undertakes to remain present before the Committee on 22.02.2021 and complete the formalities i.e. filing of affidavit and if it is done, the Committee be directed to decide the same as early as possible on or before 31.03.2021.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties, the following order is passed: a.

The Petitioner is directed to remain present before Respondent No.1 - Committee and file his affidavit, if any, on 22.02.2021.

b.

The Respondent No.1 - Committee shall decide the application for validity of caste certificate filed by the Petitioner as early as possible but in any case, on or before 31.03.2021.

c With these directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly.

d No order as to costs.
