This is an application for anticipatory bail in connection with CR No.56 of 2018 registered with Mankhurd Police Station for offence u/s 420 of Indian Penal Code. The prosecution case is that the applicant has induced the complainant to part with the amount towards making available room premises from MHADA. Learned APP submitted that during the course of investigation statements of six other persons have been recorded who stated that the amounts were also collected from them by the accused. Presently the amount collected by the applicant is to the tune of Rs.1,18,000/-. It is submitted that there is every likelihood that the applicant must have deceived other persons. There are two more similar cases registered against the applicant.

The advocate for applicant further submits that one case has been settled by the applicant as the amount has been refunded.

Considering the modus operandi of the applicant in the present case, no case for grant of anticipatory bail is made out. Hence, Criminal Anticipatory Bail Application No.81 of 2019 is rejected.
