Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned APP appearing for the State.

The petitioner's brother has been granted Covid-19 parole, however, according to the learned counsel for the petitioner, while granting Covid-19 parole to the convict, onerous conditions are imposed of furnishing two sureties and out of the two sureties, one surety is directed to be a Government servant. Learned counsel, on instructions, submits that the convict is ready to furnish two sureties, but not of a Government servant. He further submits that the convict is ready to deposit Rs.25,000/- towards cash surety. 3.
Learned APP submits that the convict may be directed to furnish one solvent surety and attend the nearest police station where he proposes to live during the period of parole leave. M.M.Salgaonkar

Upon hearing the learned counsel appearing for the rival parties, we are of the opinion that the respondents should accept two sureties and shall not insist for one surety being a Government servant. Out of two sureties, the convict shall furnish one solvent surety and shall deposit Rs.25,000/- towards cash surety. The convict shall attend the Police Station Taluka Jalgaon, twice in a week, on every Wednesday and Sunday in between 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. during his parole leave.

The order dated 23rd December, 2020 stands modified to the above extent.

With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
