This is an application filed through jail seeking early hearing of the appeal. Heard the learned Counsel appointed for the applicant/appellant. The appellant herein is convicted for the offence punishable under section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 vide Judgment and Order dated 30th March, 2017. It is true that the applicant has undergone half of the sentence. However, since this Court is hearing jail appeals of the year 2014, there is no reason to hear the present appeal peremptorily. In the interest of justice, the matter be placed for hearing on 11/6/2019. In view of this, the application is disposed of accordingly.
