At the outset, learned A.P.P states that the prosecution has examined 6 witnesses and only 2 witnesses are left to be examined i.e. the Medical Officer and the Investigating Officer. The application is accordingly disposed of as not pressed. It is made clear that this application has not been heard on merits. However, having regard to the fact that the applicant is in custody since 18th August 2016, the trial of the applicant is expedited.
