This is an application (IA No.945 of 2024) for seeking directions to Respondent No.2 for renewal of passport of the Applicant in view of the pendency of the criminal proceedings against him. 2.
The Applicant had challenged the First Information Report bearing No. 0172 of 2021 registered with N.R.I. Sagari Police Station, Navi V.A.Tikam 1 / 2
43-iA 945 of 2024.odt Mumbai for the Offences under Sections 379 r/w. 34 of IPC, which has been culminated in filing of charge-sheet. Proceedings are pending in the Court Judicial Magistrate First Class, Vashi vide RCC No. 65/2022. 3.
The Petition has been admitted by this Court vide Order dated 28th July, 2023 and all further proceedings in the matter have been stayed. 4.
It is submitted that the Applicant is working as Senior Vice President (F&A) and Deloitte US India Firm Tax Leader, heading Group entities tax management and strategy and policy and therefore, on account of work obligations Applicant is required to travel USA and other countries. The passport of the Applicant is expiring on 24th April, 2024. Hence, the passport may be renewed for a period of 10 years. Notice of hearing of this application is given to Respondent No.2. 5.
Learned APP submitted that the criminal prosecution is pending against the Applicant, hence, request for renewal may be granted subject to certain conditions.

It is pertinent to note that First Information Report has been registered against the Applicant for offence under Section 379 of IPC. 7.
The passport be renewed for a period of 10 years in accordance with the rules.
