This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is filed assailing order dated 18 December 2023 passed by the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission / Respondent No.1.

After the parties were heard for sometime and Mr. Kanade, learned counsel for the respondent No.1 on instructions submit that Suo Moto proceedings subject matter of the present petitions are pending with respondent No.1. He would further submit that insofar as the observations of the Commission in regard to cost of Rs.50,000/- would not be insisted at this stage, and shall be subject matter of appropriate consideration including on 31 January, 2024 Kiran Kawre

918-WP-944-2024.DOC jurisdiction at the final hearing of the proceedings. We accept such contention as urged on behalf of the respondent No.1. We are hence of the opinion that further adjudication of this petition is not called for. The petition stands disposed of, keeping open all contentions of the parties. 3.

We are of the opinion that all such contentions including on jurisdiction to impose cost can also be gone into by the commission, at the final hearing of the proceedings.

Disposed of. No costs.
