Heard learned counsel for the applicant and learned APP for the State.

The applicant is apprehending arrest in respect of First Information Report (FIR) No.1148/2022 registered with Mumbra Police Station, District-Thane, on December 6, 2022 for the offence punishable under Section 323, 342, 384, 385, 506 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC' for short).

The incident took place on December 5, 2022. It is the case of the first informant Sandesh that he was threatened and assaulted and money was extorted from him. An 1/3
amount of Rs.49,000/- was transferred in the account of the accused-Pradnesh Ishwar Teltumdabe. The entire extortion is alleged to have been masterminded by the accused Pradnesh.

There is no specific role assigned to the applicant. The other three accused have been arrested and released on bail. The main accused has been released on bail. There are no criminal antecedents reported against the applicant. 5.
Considering the nature of the accusations, the custodial interrogation of the applicant is not necessary. Hence the following order.
ORDER
(a) In the event of arrest of the applicant-Akif Aslam Kampoo in connection with FIR No.1148/2022 registered with Mumbra Police Station, District-Thane, the applicant shall be released on bail on his furnishing P. R. bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/- with one or more sureties in the like amount.
(b) The applicant shall report to the concerned police station 21st and 22nd January, 2023, between 11.00 2/3
a.m. and 2.00 p.m. and thereafter, as and when called. (c) The applicant to co-operate with the investigating ofocer.
(d) The applicant shall furnish the details of his residential address and phone number to the investigating ofocer.
(e) The applicant shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing the facts to Court or any Police Ofocer and should not tamper with evidence.

The application is disposed of.
