The sole grievance raised in the petition is applications dated 20th November, 2010 and 15th March, 2014 filed by petitioner No.1 and 2 respectively for grant of caste validity certificate is not decided by the respondent No.2 till today. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that because of the inaction on the part of the respondent No.2, the petitioners are seriously prejudiced. 2.

In the light of the above, we deem it convenient to dispose of this petition by directing the respondent No.2 to decide the petitioners' aforesaid applications as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order. Ordered accordingly.

It is expressly made clear that we have not gone into the merits of the matter and the respondent No.2 -Caste Scrutiny Committee shall decide the petitioners claim independently in accordance with law. 4.

In order to enable the respondent No.2 to decide the petitioners' said claim, the petitioners shall remain present before the respondent No.2 on 20th February, 2018 at 11.00 am along with their applications as well as copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
