The only prayer as made in the petition is that respondent no. 2 be directed to decide the representations dated 28 August, 2023, 16 September, 2023, 28 November, 2023, 8 January, 2024 and 10 January, 2024 filed by the petitioners.

The grievance of the petitioners is in regard to illegal allotment of slum tenements as undertaken by respondent no. 2 in respect of which the petitioners are stated to have many complaints. However, such complaints have not been considered much less decided. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the only prayer as made by the petitioners is granted. 3.

We dispose of this petition with a direction to respondent no. 2-Chief Executive Officer, Slum Rehabilitation Authority to decide the representations 18 January, 2024

904.WP781_2024.DOC of the petitioners as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of four weeks from today. This shall be done after the petitioners are heard on the representations and by a reasoned order. All contentions of the petitioners are expressly kept open.
