1] It is informed that the amount determined by the Competent Authority towards the compensation for acquisition under the National Highways Act, 1956 (said Act) is deposited in the account of Society. It is further informed that the Cooperative Society has raised the disputes with regard to quantum of compensation which has been referred to the Arbitrator in view of sub-section (5) of Section 3G of the said Act, and the District Collector has been appointed as an Arbitrator and the proceedings bearing Proceedings No. 295 of 2017 are stated to be pending with the Collector/ Arbitrator. The ends of justices would be met if the Collector/Arbitrator is directed to dispose of the pending
DSS 2/2 26-cwp-12261-16.doc proceedings by extending an opportunity of hearing to all concerned parties and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from today and it is accordingly directed.
