Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the Applicant and the learned Counsel appearing for the Respondents. Perused the averments made in the Application. It is contended that the Applicant may be permitted to renew his passport bearing No.Z-4128873 for 10 years and accordingly, the passport authorities may be directed to process the application of the Applicant and issue new passport for 10 years.

Mr.Venegaonkar, learned Counsel appearing for Respondent No.1 - Central Bureau of Investigation and Mr.Gandhi, learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner have no objection to allow the prayer of the Applicant. However, Mr.Venegaonkar submits that a colour photocopy of the renewed passport be submitted with respondent No.1. Learned Counsel for the Applicant makes a statement that such copy will be submitted with the office of Respondent No.1.

Statement of the learned Counsel for the applicant is accepted.

In the light of the above, the Application is allowed. The passport authorities are directed to process the application of the Applicant for renewal of the passport in accordance with the relevant rules/procedure. The passport authorities may consider the prayer of the Applicant for renewal of the passport for 10 years. 5.

With the above observations, the application stands disposed off.
