This is an application received through Jail for transferring case of the applicant bearing Sessions Case No.22/2017 to the Fast Track Court. It is stated that the applicant was arrested on 24.12.2011 and since then he is languishing in Jail. It is submitted that, earlier the provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 were applied to the said crime which have been dropped by the MCOC Court and now only the trial for the offence punishable under the provisions of Indian Penal Code is remained.

The learned APP. on instructions submitted that after dropping the charges of the MCOC Act, the case is now transferred to the regular Court and the concerned case is now renumbered as Sessions Case No.22/2017. He further submitted that the charge is not framed till date. 3.

In view of the fact that, the applicant is arrested on 24.12.2011 and since then he is in Jail, the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Alibag, District Raigad seized of the Sessions Case No.22/2017 is hereby directed to expedite the hearing of the said Sessions Case No.22/2017 and to make an endeavour to conclude the same on or before 31.12.2018.
