None appears for the applicant. There was no appearance on behalf of the applicant even on the last occasion.

With the assistance of learned APP I have perused the materials on record. There are five accused. The applicant is the accused No.1. It is the case of the prosecution that the deceased suffered 18 injuries. Stab wounds are found on the vital parts of the body of the deceased. The assault has been brutal. The applicant was identified by the witness and was seen with blood stained clothes. The blood stained knife is recovered from the applicant. There are as many as ten 1/2

PMB 924.ba.265-23.doc criminal antecedents reported against the applicant. Some of them are in respect of bodily offences. No doubt the case is based on circumstantial evidence. There is material on record in the nature of last seen together and circumstances relating to the applicant's conduct post the incident. The applicant was arrested on 03.12.2019. I am informed that the trial has commenced and two witnesses have been examined. The prosecution proposes to examine around twenty witnesses more. In such circumstances, though I am not inclined to enlarge the applicant on bail as the trial has commenced, learned trial Court is requested to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of one year from today. Liberty to the applicant to apply for bail after some time, if the trial does not progress substantially.
