The petitioner has been convicted for offence u/s.138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. He has been sentenced to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of three months and directed to pay compensation of Rs.7,00,000/- within a period of sixty days vide judgment and order dated 13th March 2020.

The petitioner had challenged said judgment of conviction before Sessions Court by preferring Criminal Appeal No.135 of 2020. The Sessions Court by order dated 30th August 2021 directed the petitioner-accused to deposit Rs.2,00,000/- within two months. 3.

The petitioner preferred application seeking extension of time to deposit amount. He relied upon medical case papers in support of his submission that mother of applicant was ailing. Learned advocate for petitioner, on instructions, stated that amount of Rs.2,00,000/- directed to be deposited in accordance with

The petitioner is permitted to deposit a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- before Trial Court within ten days from today. The petition is disposed off. (PRAKASH D. NAIK, J.) MST
