The Petitioner is retired from the service. Just before one year of his retirement, the Petitioner has made application for correction of date of birth in the service record.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that Petitioner got the knowledge of the wrong recording of the date of birth in the school record only in the year 2013 as such thereafter filed documents evidencing that the date of birth of the Petitioner is 25/02/1964 however wrongly the date of birth has been recorded as 01/06/1962. 3.

Learned counsel submits that correction needs to be made. 4.

The Petitioner as on date is already superannuated. It is also fact that one year prior to his retirement, the Petitioner has made an application for correction of date of birth in the service record. It would be too late to consider the application of the Petitioner for correction of date of birth in the service record, even otherwise the application for correction of date of birth has to be made within five years from the date of joining from the service.

In light of above no relief can be granted to the Petitioner. 7.

Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
