The above Writ Petition is filed by the Petitioner who had contested the election for the post of Corporator held by the Pune Municipal Corporation, but was unsuccessful. He has filed Election Petition No.2 of 2017 before the Small Causes Court, Pune and by the present Writ petition seeks directions against the Small Causes Court, Pune to dispose off the said Election Petition expeditiously. 2.

In view of the facts mentioned in the Petition and keeping in mind the fact that the term of the office shall get over in the year 2022, the writ petition is allowed. Respondent No.1 shall hear and dispose of the Election Petition No.02 of 2017 within six months from the date of this order. If necessary, the Election Petition may be heard on day to day basis.
