By this writ petition, a request is made by the petitioner to expedite the trial. The petitioner was arrested on 24/12/2014. The charge was framed as far back as on 22/09/2016. Learned APP invited my attention to the order dated 28/03/2024 passed by this Court in Bail Application No. 1359 of 2023 preferred by the petitioner. On 28/03/2024, this Court recorded that the trial has commenced and 2 witnesses have been examined. The prosecution proposes to examine 14 to 15 more witnesses. The bail application is now listed on 18/04/2024. 1/2

In this view of the matter, considering that the applicant is incarcerated since 24/12/2014, the trial Court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same preferably within a period of 6 months from the date when this order is placed on record of the trial Court. 3.

OfÏce to communicate this order to the trial Court. Needless to mention that the bail application preferred by the petitioner will be decided on its own merits. 4.

The writ petition is disposed of.
