The appellant is the original complainant. He had filed a complaint against the respondent nos.1 to 8 and three others alleging commission of an offence punishable under Section 500 of the IPC read with Section 34 thereof. The trial resulted in conviction of two of the accused persons and acquittal of the remaining nine, which include the present respondents. avk 1/2

16-APPEAL-173-2015.doc The appeal is being listed for admission from time to time and it was indicated to the court that there was a possibility of the matter being amicably settled between the parties. Today, the learned counsel for the parties inform me that the matter has already been amicably settled between the parties and that the respondent nos.1 to 8 have tendered an apology, for having made the alleged defamatory publication, to the satisfaction of the appellant. Consent terms signed by the parties and by their counsel are taken on record and marked "X" for Identification.

I am satisfied that the matter has indeed been amicably settled.
