This application is filed in Writ Petition No.1505 of 2011, which was disposed off by the order dated 7th June, 2011. The applicant, who was earlier a Pakistani citizen, has been granted certificate under the Citizenship Act, 1955 of Naturalisation by the Government of India and as such has become an Indian citizen. He now desires to apply for passport as an Indian citizen. This application is required to be filed by him in view of Notification dated 25th August, 1993 of the Ministry of External Affairs. In view of pendency of the criminal proceedings against him for issuance of passport, the applicant

ssk 2 Cri Appln 61/16 in WP 1505/11-26/2/16 is required to produce orders from the concerned court permitting him to depart from India. The order by which Writ Petition No.1505 of 2011 was disposed off has imposed sufficiently stringent conditions upon the applicant for his travel abroad. Mr. Singh, the learned advocate for the applicant states that these conditions have been complied with by the applicant and that he will also abide by the conditions in future. In the circumstance, there can be no impediment in permitting the applicant to apply for Indian passport. Therefore, the application is allowed. The applicant is granted permission to apply for Indian passport, which would be granted to him by the Passport Authority in accordance with law.
